The Desert Nomads Golf Club is proud to announce the details of Slyder Cup XXV. The Slyder Cup Invitational, a team event in the Ryder Cup format, will be going back to beautiful Central Wisconsin for our 25th Anniversary with teams Captained by two of our founding players. Joe Dunphy, the source and inspiration of the Slyder Cup, was present just off the green when Justin Leonard's historic putt went in at the Country Club in Boston Mass 1999. After Joe's protege, Mark Slovensky, filled in as an alternate in Palm Springs Desert Hunt, Joe and Mark founded the Slyder Cup. Joe was the inaugural winning Captain of Slyder Cup One while long time friend Alfredo Castellanos Captained the first big comeback (7 pts on Sunday) in Slyder Cup III. 2025 will mark the first time in our history that two winning Captains have gotten a chance to become the first two-time winning Captain. For those that experienced our 20th anniversary, they know this special location features unbelievable sunsets on the lake, pontoon boats, waverunners, and fishing when birdies are not being made.

Pre-Tournament

  • June 15, Sun: Deadline for $500 non-refundable deposit to secure spot.
  • July 10–14: Optional Fishing/Scouting Trip.
  • July 31, Thu: Freezing of Handicaps.
  • August 3, Sun: 6 PM PT / 8 PM CT Online Draft. Join the Draft or join the DRAFT conference call.
  • August 11, Mon: Balance of tournament fee due.

Accommodations

Reserved accommodations at two team lakehouses for five nights are included in the event fee. Cost is always a concern, but for our 25th anniversary, we’ve included premier courses while keeping expenses as low as possible. The real value of this event lies in the experience and camaraderie.

Tournament Fee

$1,400 Includes:
  • Lakehouse accommodations for five nights. Team Captains will play a pre-tournament match for choice of team house. Captains get priority for private bedrooms. Remaining private bedrooms will be auctioned, with proceeds split among players in shared rooms. If we have 28 players, Mark’s lakehouse will accommodate up to six players.
  • Dinner and cocktails at the Kickoff Dinner.
  • All four competitive rounds of golf, including green fees, cart fees, taxes, and range balls.
  • Supershot and No-Splash for Cash entry (drop a 90–100 yard shot in a floating chair to win up to $300).
  • Shady Acres BBQ.
  • Annual dues for Nomad membership ($30, excludes optional $45 GHIN sync fee).
  • Dinner and cocktails at the Champions’ Dinner.
  • Team apparel and incidentals.
  • Competition, camaraderie, and lifetime memories.
